Danielle P. Meyer Ph.D.
Jungian Psychotherapist, Art Therapist, and Archetypal Astrologer
When I was younger, I found astrology and personality inventories like the Myers-Briggs and Enneagram to be identity development tools that helped me understand my relationship to myself and to others. My own personal healing journey led me towards psychology and a background in fine arts. I have always been concerned with living an authentic life and also very passionate about guiding others to express their own authentic selves. My own creative process has multiple branches into a variety of mediums and I value the tending of creativity as a dynamic ebb and flow that shifts throughout life. Creative endeavors and exploring the inner realm of consciousness form an ongoing process that I live daily in my personal and professional lives.

In 2012 I graduated from Adler University in Chicago, IL with a masters degree in Art Therapy. During my studies, I worked with homeless teenage mothers and individuals experiencing homelessness and schizophrenia. The core of my master's training was at a private practice where I treated individuals with eating disorders using Internal Family Systems and art therapy. I also led Body Image, Eating Disorder, and Art Therapy support groups for adults. Additionally, I served as an art therapist in several lower-income elementary and high schools in Chicago. In my Art Therapy program I wrote a thesis paper on Natal Charts and Mandala Making to Increase Self Awareness in Individuals with Eating Disorders.
Since 2012, I have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma at partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care, utilizing IFS and Art Therapy along with other trauma-informed modalities. I have facilitated numerous groups focusing on body image, art therapy, somatic mindfulness, recovery skills/resources, family and relationships, psychodrama, and relapse prevention. I draw on 10 years of clinical experience with people of all ages in various clinical settings. I am licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon and Colorado a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Hawai'i. I have also completed the hours to become a registered art therapist (ATR) through the American Art Therapy Association.

I became interested in expanding my studies on psyche (or soul) and completed an MA/PhD in Depth Psychology with a focus on Jungian and Archetypal Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2022. In my dissertation, Active Imagination and Archetypal Astrology in C. G. Jung's Black Books, I explored how archetypal movements are present the imaginal realm. During my time at Pacifica I gained knowledge and practical experience working with dreams and active imagination. These became vitally important tools I integrated into my practice to help my clients other connect to their inner wisdom and guidance. I am currently accruing psychoanalytic hours with an intended goal of applying to Jungian psychoanalytic training.
I hold a diploma (120+ hours) in archetypal astrology and cosmology from the Institute of Transpersonal and Archetypal Studies in New York City where I studied with mentors in the field of archetypal cosmology and transpersonal psychology. I have been offering archetypal astrological coaching and consulting for over 10 years. I have been invited to be a guest astrologer at holotropic breathwork sessions astrology seminars through Stanilav Grof's Legacy Project. I am a contributing astrologer and author to the field of archetypal astrology through various platforms.
